Synchro(electromechanical device)

Synchro is used for transmitting mechanical angle variation of transmitter over a long distance.

Synchro is a type of rotary electrical transformer that is used for measuring the angle of a rotating machine. It is classified into two types ; Torque Synchro and Control Synchro

synchro are mostly used to compare the angular position of a load with its commanded position and to generate an appropriate feedback such that daviation is corrected automatically.

Such automatic motion control feedback system is called servo mechanism. for this purpose two synchro are used in conjunction one is called the transmitter and other is receiver.

suppose initially the rotor and stator of the transmitter and receiver are in a position as shown in the figure (a),

induced voltage on the three phase of the two stator will be V/2,V,-V/2 respectively as indicated, because of the cos theta coupling between the stator and rotor winding.

Now rotor of the transmitter is rotated by 30 degree so that the  voltage of transmitter stator winding is changed as shown in the figure (b) .

Because of this  there will be voltage unbalance between corresponding windings of receiver-stator.this will produce a current flow with a consequent rotation of the receiver rotor through an identical angle .

Specification

Normal excitation voltage : 1.0 volt 50 hertz to 400 kilo hertz frequency

Sensitivity :1 volt per degree

Non-linearity a: 0.25 percentage

In simple language

On a practical level, synchros resemble motors, in that there is a rotor, stator, and a shaft. Ordinarily, slip rings and brushes connect the rotor to external power. A synchro transmitter's shaft is rotated by the mechanism that sends information, while the synchro receiver's shaft rotates a dial

Do an ALP to compare two eight bit numbers NUM1 and NUM2 stored in external memory locations 8000h and 8001h respectively. Reflect your result as: If NUM1NUM2, SET MSB of location 2FH (bit address 7FH). If NUM1 = NUM2, then Clear both LSB & MSB of bit addressable memory location 2FH.
