force measurement As we know force is a product of mass and acceleration. so, once we know the acceleration we can calculate the force by knowing the mass of the body. Strain gauge load cell is Electrical type force measurement device. As shown in the figure(b) four strain gauges are mounted on the load sensing number. Strain gauge 1 and 3 are opposite to each other and strain gauges 2 and 4 are opposite to each other.
